I am normally not a believer of the Friday the 13th myth but I think my cat Skeeter is. Skeeter, along with her litter mate Scooter stay indoors all of the time because of the busy traffic going past our house. This morning, my alarm went off as usual, and I quickly turned it off so as not to wake DW. Normally this awakens the cats and they know enough to avoid me as I walk out of the darkened bedroom. But today was not Skeeter's lucky day. As I walked towards the hall, I accidently kicked the poor feline and she went screaming down the hall. After getting the morning paper, I was walking down the hall toward the bathroom to take my shower. Lo and behold, I stepped on Skeeter's tail and she let out a screech to let me know that this was not appreciated. Well, for the rest of the AM, she avoided me like the plague. Even when I tried to pet her as I was walking by, she cowered from me, assuming the worst. When I get home from work later today, she will probably be hiding under the bed covers! Not a good way to start the day, but she'll probably get over it!
I don't usually let Fri the 13th get to me too. After 15 yrs of being a nurse & I got a pretty thick skin on me for the docs. Pretty good at standing up for other staff & not letting them walk all over everyone. It's been a long long week & I was wrung out today. Then around 10a the twig was broken for sure. I was bawling when I got done talking to 1 doc & then I was crying harder because I was so mad that I let him get to me & I allowed him to push me to that point. Arrrgggh! What a day!
Well I'm now ending my bad day with a nice hot bath & comfy jamms, chatting a little while & then going to take myself back to my cruise by making a drink out of my Cruzan Junkanu rum......hmmm........maybe it won't be such a bad Fri the 13th.
