Default Diamond Princess -- 1st Pics on Cruisemates

I may be pooped from our pre-inaugural on the Diamond Princess that we just disembarked today, but I managed to upload *53* ship and cabin photos tonight to the Photo Galleries.

The ship is incredible!!

I was blown away with all the (free) dining options for those on Anytime Dining -- An Asian restaurant, a steak house, Italian cuisine and a Southwestern restaurant. This, in addition to traditional dining in the International Dining Room, the casual Horizon Court and the $20 per person Sabitini's.

The Princess pools are beyond compare, and the cabin was very comfy.

My only regret was we did not have more time to experience everything.

*But* we had a treat last night -- Sheena Easton was the featured performer in the theater. I was dancing in my seat all night!

Hope you all enjoy the photos -- this is the largest ship on the West Coast, and was truly wonderful.

Harry

Someone asked about menu and dress in the PC dining on the Princess board ... thought I would post here, too:

Attire matches the evening from what I discerned (meaning we wore no jackets on the casual night).

Seems the menu stays the same every night in the alternate choices, but they present the Tradiitonal Dining menu each evening.

It's very easy to go back and forth between menus (because we did). For example, I ordered the shrimp and scallop stir fry in the Pacific Moon dining room, with a side of lobster tail from the Traditional Dining room. We did this a lot -- including salads, appetizers and desserts.

Thanks Harry! Does look like another winner for Princess...just wish they could make the showers just a teeny bit bigger!

Harry, this may be a dumb question but did you check out the room service menu?

Wow, Harry, great pictures! Looks like one gorgeous ship!

Now I'm doing a land trip this fall so I'll have to put off my Mexican Riviera but that will be high on my list!

Lisa,

Man, I know what you mean about the showers ... the commedian called them glorified pencil holders.

Gary, yes I did check out the room service menu. It's more limited, when compared to Carnival. About 5 sandwich choixes -- turkey, a club, etc. You can also get a chef's salad with cheese and turkey and ham all julliened (sp)

They also have a few desserts offered.

Harry

Harry,
Thanks for taking the pics. I was onboard just for a couple hours before you cruised out Thursday evening.
I took a few pics from the parking lot next to the Liberty ship. When I boarded for lunch I got only one pic and my camera died!!!
I booked the Diamond for November. Great ship.

Harry, I don't see my earlier posting, so I will tell you again that my husband and I really enjoyed your pix. I was thinking about booking the New Year's cruise on the Diamond, but the intinerary is exactly the same as what we took on the Dawn Princess in '92. We try not to repeat ports, although sometimes they overlap.

We're waiting for Kuki to post another New Years cruise possibility. Hope that's soon. We're also thinking about the Grand Princess in Feb. '05.

Again, nifty pix!

J.

Great pictures, Harry. You sure know how to give us all a good view of the ship. I love how you get so many different shots of the various areas. The next best thing will be booking a cruise on the Diamond and discovering it up close and personal.

Thanks,
Phyll

Awesome pics, Harry! Thanks! I'll be putting that ship on my "must cruise" list.

Cheers,
Michelle P.
