Thanks for your wishes, Jane & Gerry, although it won't be March 17th here in the eastern U.S. for another six hours or so. Nevertheless, the green beer will be flowing soon in the pubs (we call them "bars") all over this country that claims more Irish residents than anywhere else (including Eire).

We have a saying here that "On St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish (or wishes that they were)". My forebears were O'Reillys, Flynns and Aherns from Limerick & Waterford, so my beer and blood will surely be flowing green when tomorrow comes. Faith, I once even lived in Dundalk (Maryland, that is). Erin go Bragh, and Happy St. Paddy's Day!!

Jack

Happy St. Paddy's Day - I'm 1/4 Irish ... McNamara (Clare) and Moran (Mayo) ... been to Dublin, and Shannon - stayed at the castle near there (Dromoland).

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! My maiden name was McCullough....very Irish. This was always one of my dad's favorite days!

Happy St. Patrick's Day. I do not technically have any Irish blood in me, but I am from Boston, and some believe that is almost the same thing.

Not a drop of Irish blood in me, but I'm wearing green and Claddagh earrings I got in Ireland - one of my favorite countries with the kindest people anywhere!

Have a great St. Patrick's Day to all the Irish and Irish wannabes!

Happy St. Patrick's day to all. I have some Irish in me and I'm proud of it! But no green beer or whisky for me, gave up drinking for Lent. *sigh*

Isn't it amazing, though, to see how far the U.S. has come since the days of "no Irish need apply"?

Cheers,
Michelle P.
