Default Passports

I came to this thread 'cause reading others post, it seems like you all know what you're talking about. So, I like to ask if anyone can tell me how to get a passport, where to get one, and what I need to bring with me. Also if I get a passport, do I still need to carry the other forms of I.D on board? Thank-you

Hi Rsgal,
Its really very simple to get a passport, some major US post offices can do them. Here is a link with all the info:

How to get a Passport

I believe it costs around $80 now, but they are good for 10 years and they are the best identification you can travel with. A co-worker of mine just received his, said it took about 3 weeks.

You can also go to your county building. They do them also..and cheaper than the post office.

first off go to CVS, Walgreen's WalMart and have a passport photo taken, you will need that with you when you go to fill-out the application.

Passports cost the same no matter if you go to the Post Office or County Clerk, or whatever. Go to the link DOnna provided and you can even download the application. Get your passport legal photos and take them to the County Clerk/Post Office and send in the required documents. They will send you back your passport and documents by US Mail. A Passport is the ONLY form of ID you need anywhere in the world.

And you don't need any other form of ID. Unless, of course, you plan on renting a car somewhere -- you will then need a driver's license.

Our post office did everything for us. They took our picture for us. All we did was take in our Certified Copy of our Birth Certificate, and that was it. Got our pass port in about 3 weeks.
