I came across the term "up sell" on one of these boards. What does it mean? Someone mentioned that he got an "up sell" and upgraded him from a lower level inside cabin to a mini-suite on the Dawn for a price of $500 for a 7 night cruise. Is that even possible anymore?!
"up sell" is a sales term loosely translated into meaning :"now that we have a deal, can I entice you into spending even more money by offering you something interesting that I omitted to mention previously...."
The most common upsell item is an extended warranty offering additional coverage on an object you just purchased. Often it involves more profit for the vendor than the original transaction.
