Yes, of course, the BEST days are cruising days, but when you're on land what's the best day. Here's mine:
Sitting in our favorite seats in center field on a hot summer day at Turner Field watching the Braves. I have an ice cold beer in one hand, a hot dog in the other, peanuts waiting in a bag at my feet and my son and husband wearing their Braves hats (my husband's is in Hebrew, which gets lots of looks!) and arguing a play........Baseball and beer - does it get much better?

A good day= See two grandchildren and one daughter
A great day = See all four grandchildren and two daughters
Outstanding day= all four grandchildren and three daughters all at the same time
A rare and cherished day= a totally quiet day at home with no visitors, no place to go and nothing to do; with Gram always somewhere close. (that last one usually translates to being a "sea Day")
Thirty miles offshore in my boat, with no land in sight, lines down and good buddies on board, then hearing a screeching reel singing away as a huge grouper takes the bait and runs for a hole. The sound system is cranked up and some good old rock and roll is playing. A cooler full of beer and plenty of sun.
That's second place to me and Mrs.Thomas cuddled on the sofa with no T.V. or radio.
When I turn on a transceiver and found out there's a Morse contest, or a Morse signal from a rare country. Someday, I hope to make it possible to combine that with cruising.
Radio regulations what they are, that's only likely to happen on an American registered ship like Pride of America. The paperwork for the others is either non-existent or too intimidating.
I may dwell on the land, but I live at sea!
Sensation 2/03 I disembarked, but never really left the ship.
Enchantment 9/03 Just had to go back.
Inspiration 3/04 Just have to go back again, and again, and again...
Sensation 04/05 And again!
The anticipation of seeing your sisters, of knowing there will be quiet moments when all the kids are asleep, of unrushed talks in the swing on the back porch, of laughter of days long ago, of knowing all your family is safe & happy & you're grateful for that. But the best is knowing that some day soon you'll be on the ocean again & words just can't describe how that feels.
