Someone recently posted a question about how do you save for your next cruise.
Here is a photo of my "cruise fund" which sits on my cruise souvenir shelf in my cruise room. It's small, I know, and that's about how much money I've saved so far!!
BTW, that is a jigsaw of the Titanic you can see in the background!
Love it. Whatever you have to do to get on another cruise is the right way. For years now, we have put any money that was not earned in our paychecks in a special credit union account. Bonuses, refunds, and part-time work (I taught evening classes for four local adult ed programs). Since retiring, extra money is less than it used to be but we still get some. I consult a little but, even a lot of that is done in bartering.
Hope your fund grows fast and you cruise often.

I love it! It's like a shrine to ships with a collection box. I've thought about doing something similar.
I use my Sensation shipnack in a unique way. It sits atop my PC monitor. When I have a Carnival cruise booked, its prow points to the door of the room. In that orientation, its starboard side faces the wall so that as I look up from the monitor, she's "port out." When I don't have one booked, the prow points into the room, "starboard home--" POSH.
Whether or not the story of the word being an acronym of the phrase is true, I don't care. It's a good story and I'm sticking to it!
I may dwell on the land, but I live at sea!
Sensation 2/03 I disembarked, but never really left the ship.
Enchantment 9/03 Just had to go back.
Inspiration 3/04 Just have to go back again, and again, and again...

Hello, You can find them at Hallmark, and on a cruise. I saw them in key west on my last cruise.
Donna, I have the same idea but it is a plastic alien cup about 1 1/2 feet tall. I won it probably 7 years or so ago at Kings Dominion and it is small enough to fit in the corner of the closet, and I through any loose change in every day.
I got mine at Hallmark several weeks ago, and I love it. If I have any spare money at the end of the week, it goes in the jar. I also put in there any refund checks I get - like the $15 I got from Staples for buying a paper shredder, etc. My cruise is still way off, so I'm hoping to have a fair amount in there to cover tips, shore excursions, etc.
