Default Greetings from London

Helllo from an overcast London, although we have had some glorious spring days.

We took an intensive city tour with the TA rep and had a luncheon cruise on the Thames. We have visited the
Natural History Museum and the Tate Modern on our own. Today we will go to the Victoria and Albert Museum. Friday, we tour Leeds Castle billed as "the most beautiful castle in the world." How it can be more beautiful than Windsor, I don't know. Leedscastle.com, if you're interested.

All in all, I told the Queen that I was just too busy to lunch with her on t his trip. I apologised profusely, of course.

Broken rib update: DH slept on his side for the first time in a month.

Will post from QE2!. Ta Ta!

J.

j, the Queen must be devestated that you can't lunch with her. {{grin}} I (and I'm sure Donna) look forward to your report from the QE2.

Hi J, thanks for checking in.

The Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert are some of my favorite museums I've ever been in. Too bad you don't have time to check out the British Museum, that's my favorite although I'm a bit biased as I used to work there.

Leeds Castle is gorgeous from the outside; but I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the "modern" interiors.

Can't wait for your next post. Glad to hear hubby is healing up nicely.

Cheers,
Michelle P.

Thanks for checking in J

London really is a great city, and we enjoyed Leed's Castle when there a couple of years back; beautiful grounds. Be sure to try the maze!

It is so great hear from you. And I'm glad to hear your husband is improving. I remember you being afraid that he may not be ready for the cruise. Enjoy yourselves. Regards to both queens: Long may she live. Long may she sail.

My son just returned from Europe. He was in London for just a short time but got some great photos of Queen Elizabeth! No joke - I can't believe he got the photo! No lunch, though; she just smiled and waved!
