So many times, we get emails from our friends and family (especially newbies to email and internet) that tell of missing children, kids with cancer, ACLU, you will die if you drink soda, etc.....Newcomers to email and internet have never seen these. Sometimes, even WE haven't seen some of them, but we pass them on assuming they are true and we are trying to help fight the battle. By using snopes, you can elimate these emails.
Simply go to http://www.snopes.com
and type in the search bar. If you see that it is false, then send that link to everyone that got that email. Just hit "reply all" and send the link and let them know it's false. Tell them to send that site to all their friends too.
Snopes also confirms legitimate emails, so it is really great!
If you click on "what's new" you can get emails about all the latest hoaxes/rumors.
The most recent one I received was in regards to ACLU and banning crosses. It is false. Checked http://www.snopes.com
by typing in "ACLU crosses".
Please save this to your bookmarks and pass it on. This will cut down on many of these emails and then we can read only the good stuff.
