Knowing how expensive internet can be on the ship, has anyone found inexpensive alternatives in port? Where and how much (roughly). Maybe we can put together a useful list of alternative internet "cafes" . Anyone found a good place?
My secret (now not a secret ) is that there is a free internet cafe located upstairs at the main location of Little Switzerland in StThomas. It is sponsored by Baume and Mercier
and time is free. May be limited to only a few minutes if demand is high.
The space is airconditioned (unusual for CharlotteAmolie) and there is a nice little cafe for coffe and cold drinks with clean and empty restrooms. Accessed by walking through the store on the right side and up the stairs.
Anyone else have a good internet place in port?
Papa Biill..what a great secret....The travel chanel could use you....Another good thing, are the Crown and Anchor Clubs, which are only on a few islands..I hope they are still there..A cup of coffee, tea, a CLEAN RESTROOM, and I believe there is computer access there as well...its been a few years since I had the pleasure of using one, but on the upcoming CM Jewel of the sea cruise, I know it will be a stop on my shopping tour This list would be a great list to have...
Trip, with her book & tea!

I always find an internet cafe in ports, not free, but for $5.00 you can use a high speed internet for almost an hour, a heck of a lot less than onboard the ship. Most of them are located close to the port, so they are easy to spot.
I've never had trouble finding one in the Islands, Europe, wherever. Somewhere between $2 and $5 an hour is normal. IMO, not even worth making a list, because the first or second person you ask on the street will direct you to one.
I mostly sail Princess and Platinum members get free internet which is worth about $150 to me per week. I normally access it first thing in the morning so I don't miss any ship activities, miss anytime at ports and shows at night.
