Oh it is good to be back on-line. Have been ill since just before Easter. Being a nurse I just passed it off as "just a little virus". But the fevers kept coming every couple of nites & then nightly, followed by increased joint pains, a head to toe body rash & then the fingers & toes turned dusky & couldn't bend them. Got tested from everything under the sun including Lymes & Scleraderma. Finally to Lupus was "inconclusive". The fatigue has been tremendous & didn't feel like being on the computer or anything. Finally this past week have come around to feeling better. Did some scrapbooking with my daughter on Saturday & planted some flowers in the old wagon today (woo hoo! progress!) Rollerdonna - so so glad that you are feeling better now. CruisinKandJ - I missed what happened to your grandson but sounds like he is making a good turn after 1 week. I MISSED EVERYONE!!! Mark is OOT in Texas on business this week so I'm a loner this week but back at work so I will stay busy. He just called from Denver airport & there is a screaming kid next to him that he says he hopes is not sitting next to him on the plane on his way to Houston! Glad I'm home.
Hi Deb, so you've been out of commisssion since before Easter too! Glad to hear you are feeling better, and great to see you back on board! It's tough missing everybody here isn't it? Hope to see you posting more often now!
(Also hope that the message before mine gets booted off this board real fast - I reported it right away!)
Ok, good, it's gone...
Deb, welcome back. Whatever was wrong? Was it ChronicFatigue Syndrome? Whatever, it sounds awful.
Yes, my grandson suffered serious burns when he tried to lift a pot of boiling water off of the stove and was scalded down his chest and legs. He's slowly recovering, but his doctors have said that he must stay out of the sun for the next year, a tall order for a Southern California-born boy.
What you describe sounds very similar to some symptoms I showed a few years ago.
It turned out to be viral meningitis. I think it took a spinal tap to confirm it.
I may dwell on the land, but I live at sea!
Sensation 2/03 I disembarked, but never really left the ship.
Enchantment 9/03 Just had to go back.
Inspiration 3/04 Just have to go back again, and again, and again...
Sensation 04/05 The vessel made me do it!
Glad you're feeling better, Deb. That's an awful long time to feel sick, and still not know exactly what was wrong. But you're back and posting is all that matters. Are you and RollerDonna long lost twins? Everybody's just got to get better, and NOW!
I am still new here Mark and Deb...think I found this after you got sick..but let me say Welcome back from you illness and hope you are feeling better..It's always bad to be sick but to not know what is wrong is even worse..get better..
Michelle - you're right - I need a cruise just to rest some more! I am feeling a lot better. Seahunks - did'nt get the spinal tap (nurses are afraid of all of that!), not meningitis but the doc thinks it was a weird virus that just got a good hold & went rampant through each of my systems. Yeah! me & Rollerdonna are twins - but hey! we are better now! Thanks Donna for booting off that bad post - makes me mad but then again I have to laugh - they always say things like they don't care & rude remarks but then I wonder - why are they reading if not interested!? CruisinKandJ - I'm DEFINATELY keeping your little guy in my prayers.
