I've missed everyone so much during the last few days. We got home this afternoon and had a great trip. Daughter is already off visiting with friends and family.
Thanks for all the good wishes for safe travel, the Lord blessed us with a safe trip.
Also thanks for all the Birthday wishes. We spent the big day at Dollywood and the Dixie Stampede as it was only about an hour out of our way from our daughter's college. We had a good day - it was nice to spend time outdoors, walking around before the long two day car ride that lay ahead of us....
The syrup is yet to arrive. I'll leave a note to the mail carrier to make sure he delivers it to the door. I'll make my stuffed french toast and invite everyone over for breakfast as soon as it arrives. It's a family favorite, so I think most of you would like it too.
I'm trying to catch up on all that's happened on the board while I was gone, but it will take a little while. We learned upon our arrival home that my husband's uncle passed away and the service is to be tomorrow. After the burial we must head down state for my son's All-State concert.
Great to have you back Jen, and so glad you had a great time....Since I am so close, maybe I will just drive that 50 gallon drum up, and enjoy that french toast..rest up and get backto posting we missed you....
Trip, with her book & tea!

Cube about 1 1/2 loaves of sourdough bread
put half of cubed bread into a 9 by 13 baking dish
cube 2 8 oz packages of cream cheese
place on top of the bread
mix together 1 dozen eggs, a cup of milk and a cup (I use a little more) of maple syrup
pour over bread
place rest of bread cubes on top - press down lightly
cover with foil and refridgerate over night
bake at 325 the next morning
cooking time can vary (my oven is over 20 years old and the thermostat is not quite right)
I leave the foil on for about 30 minutes, then take it off for about 15 -so it gets golden brown on top, and just a little bit crusty
Of course we warm more maple syrup to pour over what ever size portion you choose.
I often make this for brunches.
It is easy, especially because you do all the prep work ahead of time.
Welcome home Jen. It's good to have you back with us.
Thanks for the recipe too. It looks yummy and I've printed out a copy. I'm sure it's not on my WW plan, but since I'm probably the only one who can go on that diet and stick to it and gain weight, I don't think it will matter if someday I give in and make that delicious breakfast.
