Passing the gas (stations) on the way to work this morning, I noticed that since yesterday, the prices increased 2 cents. Its now $1.78, $1.88, $1.98 for the various grades. I,m in Portsmouth, Va. Shame my salary has not increased along with the raising prices..
Just filled up this morning with Regular @ $ 1.83 in Birmingham, AL. Last month while on cruise on Serenade of the Seas in Southern Carribbean a couple from the UK told me that their price was over $ 5 per ltr.
It seems the average price for unleaded 87 grade is anywhere from $1.78 to $1.89 depending on what part of town you are in. I live in Ruston, Louisiana and work in Monroe, Louisiana. It needs to go down. Toni
$2.04 for regular and of course I had to have the car that uses High Octane @ $2.24.
The price increase has created new jobs though...Almost every gas station has a loan officer now, in case you need to fill-up.
Jason If a grin is transmittable, and laughing is contagious, heres hoping for an epidemic!
$1.97 in Nebraska but like someone said, it always goes up in the summer. We are located on interstate 80 which is a main interstate across the country for vacationers. Gas always goes up for us before Memorial Day.
Well out here in my part of CA---- 2.17 2.27 and 2.37 diesel is 2.33 ouch-- and these prices are from our cheap gas stations-----and I have to use the premium for my car-- and no I'm not complaining-- just wish I got better gas mileage-hahha
Average price at the "cheaper" stations,,,1.79 Per gallon,,, What with summer coming on and time for the "tourists" here in the Tidewater of Va. it does not look promising. Sure wish we could do something about it,,,,,
On vacation since May 8, 2004 (Saturday), visiting my aunt and uncle in Roseville, CA (near Sacramento), where gas prices at the Costco are $2.04/gallon for self-serve unleaded regular. They're paying $3.00 a gallon in Malibu. I am on my aunt and uncle's computer.
Rollerdonna, since one US gallon equals 3.78 liters, you're paying $3.65 (Canadian) a gallon.
In New Jersey, where I live, I'm seeing $1.70/gallon for full-serve regular.
Wow! There's quite a range out there. For those of us in Eastern California (approx 3 hours North of Los Angeles) the 87 octane prices are running from the cheaper stations at $2.28 to the Shell/Standard types of $2.31.
1.36Euros a liter for regular here in northern Germany. That makes gas 5.00Euros a gallon, which means about $6.00! Diesel is much cheaper (good thing we bought a diesel!). Itīs .90Euros or about $3.33.
Down in Southern Jersey the cheapest right now is $1.74. I filled up on the Garden State Parkway for $1.77 last night, this morning on my trip up, it had leaped overnight to $1.87. Being an economist at heart I can tell you that in real dollars this is not the most we have paid for gas. In fact if gas prices had risen consistent with inflation over the years we would be paying well over $5.00 a gallon (don't recall the exact figure from the article). This too will pass. It always does and gas will return to more stable prices. I would not be suprised if gas drops in October as a result of the Saudis flooding the market to help re-elect Bush, a favorable president for them.
