I only got to see the last 5 mins. due to doggie visit, and of course, doggie bath afterwards... America finally came to their senses and voted in a winner!
Now, just have to wait for June 1st for Canadian Idol to start!

I HOPE that it is over on the west coast by now..............Fantasia is the American Idol....and I think it was well deserved. Diana has improved and has a great future, but Fantasia has it now. imho.

I have never liked Fantsai She sounds like Miss piggy on drugs... Or sometimes she sounds like she is singing out her nose. I wanted Dianna to win. I will not b e buying Fantasia's album.

I'm excited for Canadian Idol, I think I enjoyed their first season as much if not better than American Idol. One of the benefits of living on the border is that the TV airwaves are shared between the countries.

I never liked Fantasia. Sounds too much like Macy Gray for my tastes. I think LaToya should have been the winner, but oh well.

I'm happy that Fantasia won last night too. I liked Dianna, but Fantasia was consistently good right from the beginning. I would have taken LaToya too as far as talent and class go. I'm sure she will have a great musical career ahead of her too.

It was nice to see George last night also. There is something about his smile that makes him light the place up.

Fantasia is a fighter and has a lot of soul. I think she continued to grow throughout the competition.We really got a chance to see who and what she really is. Latoya and Jennifer Hudson were both fine too, but didn't continue to grow as much as did Fantasia and Diana for that matter.

I think Fantasia was the right one to win even with the voting glitches along the way.

The nice part of this American Idol season was that there was a number of fine talented people, which in some strange way makes picking the winner an easier task. It's hard to pick the best if they are all pretty good. This time there were three to five excellent talents, depending on your point of view.

There is no dobut that Fantasia is a very good singer, very soulful, especially in her lower register, i don't really like her upper register where she gets that raspy, nasaly sounding voice, (Macey Grey meets Aretha Franklin). Personally i don't see her becoming a "pop superstar".

Hopefully she is the last American Idol. I think it is hilarious that my 15 yo stepdaughter hangs on every second of this lame show listening to music that would horrify her in other circumstances.
