I spoke with the neurologist this afternoon, and he tells me that Keith has pneumonia, "just a touch." They saw it yesterday on a chest x-ray and began anti-biotics for it then. They have also ordered physical therapy to get him moving again, but he might have to go to another faciity for more therapy. Doesn't look like he's coming home any time soon, as much as he wants to. Doesn't look like San Diego for the wedding aniversary at the end of June, either.
I am glad that they caught it before it got bad, and now that hes is able to get up out of bed that should help. (nursing school taught me that one.) Just make sure that if he is in bed that he (or the staff) turns him from side to side atleast every two hours. This will help alot. And getting up and sitting in a chair as often as he can handle it.
Our prayers are still with you and Keith.
Sorry to hear about the new complication - you just can't get ahead of this! Hopefully he'll be able to stay where he is - sounds as if the care is good. Don't know where you live, but I live in a very small town (6,000) and we have one of the finest hospitals in the state. Where would he go it he were to be released to a new facility ?
Will continue prayers for his recovery and peace for you.
Belique, no i'ts not the best, and believe me, I have complained and will do so again tomorrow. If needed, he will go to a rehab facility for more physical therapy, and that will happen even if he still has the pneuimonia.
As mentioned above its a good thing they caught it early! With the right meds this should be taking care off in no time. I agree, he has got to get out of bed and get moving again.....Be strong and hang in there...........

Judy..this is a hard time also..but Keith seems like he is improving even tho these other problems are setting in..The quicker he gets to therapy the quicker he will heal.
We have never stopped praying you YOu and Keith..so just keep the faith and we will pray for the best..good luck.
