Good Monday Morning!
Good morning everyone! It is 2:00am here in Wisconsin and it is still 70 degrees.......the next couple of days are supposed to be HOT and HUMID..........I know some people here have been anxious for summer to arrive, but I would prefer late spring to summer any day! I cannot wait for Alaska in less than 50 days!!
Have a great day everyone!
Crown Princess 1/18/14....the NEW Me, Myself and I cruise!
Good morning from southern New Jersey! Supposed to be hot and humid here too over the next three days, even as last weekend was unseasonably cool (high 60s). No cruise booked; cannot decide where or when to go or on what ship; but after a two-week trip to Vancouver in September and a week in Walt Disney World in December, I will have used almost all my annual leave.
Good morning from the hot sunshine state. Bringing daughter to the doctor this morning for check up...maybe she made progress?! Supposed to be hot here again which is fine with me. The pool looks a lot better but not quite right yet. Have to drop off a sample at the pool supply place and see what else we can do.
Tomorrow I think I am going to the beach with a friend....can't wait to relax a bit. Did not post yesterday,,was in church in the morning and we also went at night.
Have a wonderful day mates...........

Good Morning to All!
Hot & humid here in Georgia. I pulled a Jimmy Buffet Fri, the boss pushed me over the edge, I wanted to call her something but I just called in & went to the beach for the weekend. It was great: margarita in hand, feet in the sand, & to add a special touch the Blue Angels performing over the beach. What a way to spend a weekend.
Hope everyone has a great day & a good week.
After a very busy weekedend I finally have a minute to get caught up on the Board and say hellos.
I'm not quite sure, but I think the specialist I saw on Friday prescibed a week long cruise.
For the most part I was very disappointed in this appointment. He contradicted everything my regular md. and ear/nose/throat specialist diagnosed and prescribed. He didn't address the reasons I went to see him, only to tell me I didn't have them. (I think he thinks I'm completely stupid) He does want to treat me, but for nothing related in his field. He was very condescending, and was pretty much a smart@$$ during the entire process (which was about 3 hours). Now to the cruise part - as part of his treatment he wants me totally off all caffine....I said that I would be pretty unpleasant and thought my husband should leave for a week or so. I told him that I also had two teens and home and that it would probably be easier for me to leave than the 3 of them. That is how I came to believe he was really telling me that I should go on a cruise, at least 7 days in duration, probably at least nine days, just to make sure.
What do you guys think? My husband didn't understand the doctors prescription in the same way as I did. Perhaps you could all clarify it for me.
On a more serious not, I am totally confused by all this contradiction from these doctors. I'm about ready to just go back to my old method of treatmeant - if you wait long enough it will either go away or it'll kill ya.
Not too excited about the lack of caffine in my system. I've already eliminated so much of my diet due to the jaw problem, a good cup of coffee or mug of exotic tea were the highights of my day. I do drink herbal teas, but most of my favorites were the caffinated ones (have you ever tried white peony or earl grey with lavender?)
On a brighter note - the state track meet went really well. My son beat his personal records for the second straight weekend in both the 1500m and the 3000m. His coaches are very happy with his progress and feel fortunate he has two years of high school left.
The pool party scheduled for yesterday had to be cancelled and rescheduled. It was not a very pleasant day here - like rollerdonna's weather up in Montreal. But I am happy to report that at last we will be having a "tropical heat wave" for the next three days the highs will be in the upper 80's to lower 90's. I'm gonna pretend I'm at a resort and hang out by the pool as much as possible. Maybe I'll hook up a little flag on my chaise in the hopes that when one of the kids see it raised they'll race into the house, concoct something delicious and icy cold and serve it to me poolside (of course I'll have to tip them).
Well, its off to work, then take the puppy to the vets and off to an hair appointment, followed by a few more errands (how is it that errands take up more time than the work week - I hate all that running to and fro).
Glad to hear of Keith's steady improvement. Looking forward to learning Roller D's mom's news after Wed's appointment.
Kuki - what a nice guy. I wouldn't worry about the clothes, I'm sure there will be time for some emergency shopping in between departure on one ship and embarkation on the other. My husband tried to surprise me with an anniversary trip one year. He made all the arrangements for the kids, working around their school schedules and everything. Made the reservations and told me only a couple of days prior. I friend had referred him to a place he and his wife loved to stay at when they went to Maine (one of my favorite destinations). It was in Wells, Maine - a nice beachy area. After signing in we went to the pool and I noticed everyone was, well elderly (at the time I was 30 and husband 33).
I felt really out of place, like we had crashed an AARP convention, and they didn't look all that thrilled with us either. Come to find out that it was a hotel geared to Seniors. It was a little anticlimatic, but we had fun.
My goodness VTJen had alot of news this morning! I can certainly identify with your frustrating and confusing Dr! I am hoping Wed.'s appointment with the new doctor is a little more enlightening, my poor mom is driving herself crazy with worry.
Well the weather here in Montreal doesn't look too good at the moment, dreary and wet, but I think it's finally warming up. I couldn't sleep this morning because of the humidity, so maybe summer's here at last!
2 weeks from today I will be waking up onboard the Paradise - now that's something to get me through my work week!
A rather hazy gloomy day here in NYC. I do not want to be here as it is my birthday (54th annual) and I would normally be at home at the Jersey Shore, but I took Friday off to baby sit the guy doing annual maintenance on our oil heater, AC and hot water heater. So I will just sit here and figure out what to buy with the $100 Best Buy Girft Card my sister gave me.....and of course daydream about my upcoming cruise.

Good Morning cruisemates! Rained all day yesterday, alot of the same forecast for today. Back to work, and more preparations to be made for the Calgary Stampede.
Maybe a stampede of a different kind tonight if the Flames bring how the Stanley Cup. Those who have not seen a hockey game before should tune into ABC tonight. It's down to tonight's final game to determine the champion.
After a week of "vacation", I'm back to work so I can rest up. <G> Starting last Tuesday, I was putting in 15-16 hour days to get ready for our parish festival. It took so long because we had t'storms for 2 days and we had to work between storms. We got everything going on time by Friday at 5:00 and thing went pretty smooth.
But Sat. morning, I went to the site about three hours early to check on things, and it's a good thing I did! We only had half of the lights on around the grounds, so I put my electricians' hat on and found out that one of the feeder wires on the utility pole was blown apart. So a call to the utility company got power back on a half hour before the starting time on Saturday. All of this was happening in the middle of a rain storm. What a day!
At the end of the festival, we have a raffle drawing and I won $250! Everybody said it was rigged, but I told them it was less than minimum wage if I was getting paid to do all the work I was doing that week.
After about 7 hrs work tearing things down yesterday, I figured I put in about 80 hours work, all on my vacation. Now I need a vacation to recover from my vacation.
Now I've got to read all the posts to get caught up on all the goings on.
Aruba, Jamacia, OOoo I wanna take ya..to Montego, Key Largo...something like that..it is in my head as I heard this coming to work this morning..it is playing over and over.
OHhh....Good Morning Everyone.. I am posting a little late this morning due to the work load so far....its too early for all these calls...Had a very good weekend and hope everyone else did...Hope you all have a wonderful day and please stay safe
A late good morning from Southern California where it's cool and overcast. I'll enjoy it while I can, because temps will go to the ninties today.
When I went to see Keith yesterday, he had bathed and dressed himself. He said he took a long walk around the care facility (with attendants, of course). I hope he gets stronger and stronger. He still has trouble concentrating on the paper, though. I am supposed to schedule a meeting with the facility director and physical therapist today.
Keith will also get a visit from an internist and see the neurologist sometime this week.
I have a pile of ironing staring at me, so will get a start on that this morning and then go see Keith. A neighbor and I plan to have an early dinner in a local restaurant.
Hi to everyone, It is a rainy/cloudy day here in Vancouver. I am off to work later today and also tomorrow, so that will keep me off the msg.board a bit. Take care. Bye for now. (Oh yeah-Go FLAMES go!!)
