Saw this stat yesterday.... in the last year 70% of Americans were using the Internet (up from 60% the previous year)... and they spend an average of 11.5 hours PER WEEK on the "Net".
Where do you fit in to those stats? How many hours will you admit to spending on the net? <G>
I'm probably on about 5-6 hours per day because I check email several times a day and
do a lot of searching for my hobbies. However, I have a friend is on about 1 hour a week so I'm doing my share to make up for her.

I'm probably a couple hours per day. In short bursts, but 3 or 4 times a day at least.

Interesting statistic Kuki. With life as hectic as it has been lately, I would say that I am pretty close to the 11.5 weekly average. 1-2 hours per day. After the move, when life settles down, I expect the hours per day to increase. Wow, that really does seem to be a huge chunk of time. But if you consider some of it is:
*email correspondence (takes the place of the telephone), and
*some of it is reading the news, checking the weather (takes the place of reading the newspaper), and
*some of it is surfing for fun (takes the place of television), then,
I met my wife on line! I was in Vancouver Canada, and she was in Toronto. We decided to move to Ottawa together and get married! How's that for communication via ether!

But I think it's going to be more difficult to differentiate between "the net" and "the computer" as more of us get broadband connections. I'm sure I'm on the computer much more than 11.5 hours a week, but with the net now integrated so seamlessly, whether or not I'm actually working online is something I no longer think much about. It's not segregated like it was when we had to go through all the hoo-ha of dialing up.
I now switch back and forth between word processing, e-mail, the net, databases and financial software (which also uses the net) without even thinking about it, and I'd never be able to segregate those activities to come up with my actual net use.
Not as much lately, now that I'm working full time again. The year I was off, stats were very high and I'm not telling! :-) I'd have to say I'm on 8 - 10 hrs. a week probably!
I spend about 13-15 hours per week, more when I'm Christmas shopping. I'm trying to cut back, but these cruise boards and chat rooms sure do make my low-use internet diet hard to stick to!
