Default update on FIL / bypass surgery

Well... blow my mind... got the call this morning that my FIL was coming home TODAY !! Can u believe it ?? How can your body overcome such an ordeal soooo fast ? He looks awesome but doesnt feel as good as he looks... we "babysat" him for a few hours this afternoon... well, actually my 14 yo was in charge... Oh, how the wheel has turned ! They laughed about how they use to struggle with my son to get his shoes on... now hes putting papa's shoes on for him ! He does have a lot of congestion, which they say is normal.... so lets hope he gets the breathing better & has no complications of any kind !

Just wanted to fill yall in.... thanks for your kind words & thoughts !

Steph

Steph - Hope you do not mind me butting in. I have been away for a while. Glad your fil is doing so well. I had bypass surgery many years ago and remember the congestion. Just wanted to make sure that you knew how important it is for fil to do the breathing exercises he was taught, if they are still doing that. It hurt, but was important and helpful. I found it easiest to do them about 15 minutes after taking something for pain and held a pillow to my chest while doing the exercises.
Sounds like you have a great family. Wishing you the best.
Bobbie
