Default Bayonne Question

What is the closest airport to the Bayonne cruise terminal? I am thinking it's Newark, but is LaGuardia a feasable alternative without going broke? Under $50 and 1 hour on a Saturday and Sunday morning.

Take care,
Mike(Dreaming.........sort of)

Mike I belive you are right about the airports..Newark is way closer than La Guardia. If you land at La guardia you will have to come back across thru the Lincoln or Holland tunnels..both tolls..but I am sure someone from the area can tell you more than I can from Memory.

Thanks John:
I've been to both but it's hard to compare since I've never went from one to the other and when I've come from both airports it's been to Manhattan, in the back of a cab or a car. Luckily, it wasn't in the trunk. :-)

Take care,
Mike

Mike- Newark Airport is about 10 mi from Bayonne. Coming in from LaGuardia would be a pain as it involves crossing multiple bridges and putting up with city traffic.

Laguardia to Newark can be done several ways, none is convenient or without the possibility of delay, even on a weekend. One way or another, one must go through Queens, then either through or around Manhattan, then over the Hudson and out to the airport in Newark. In terms of "as the crow flies mileage" it is prbably no more than 20 or 25 miles, but , there are no crows in NYC. Just guessing, but would say best possible cab fare would be way over $50 (if you could get a cab to do it). I'm guessing car service cost at about $100 to $125.

Mike,

A lot would depend on the day and time of day you are discussing with regard to the time it will take to do it. As for getting there we could discuss the possiblity of the Smith taxi picking you up and delivering you to the Newark terminal. :-) Those dumb Smith's will do anything to get a hug from two of their favorite Cruisemates.

More information is required.

Mike, Newark is probably your best bet, it is only about 10 minutes to the Bayonne pier. Are you thinking of coming to Bayonne, I know all the "hot spots." Boo and I are available for tours!!!!
