Well, it's happened. Both Keith and I have been bitten by a mosquito. I was bitten Aug. 20 on the right shoulder, and Keith was bitten today on the left thigh. Neither of us have gone anywhere or done anything to bring this on. Yes, not all mosquitos are ineffected, I know.
Obviously, I am especially concerned for Keith, given all that he has been through.
Keith's brother still suffers from this awful virus. The miracle is that he's still alive. He may be in a rehab facility for a year or more.
West Nile Virus is prevalent in Phoenix, a hotbed of it, but there's a lot of it in San Bernardino County and somewhat in L.A. County.
We need your prayers. Keith still recovers from the brain surgery and seizures. He doesn't need more. And neither do I. I take care of him. Please pray fore us.
I am sorry that Keith's brother was stricken with West Nile but try to take some solace in the fact that you have a very low chance of contracting West Nile. You may want to go ahead and get screened. It is a simple blood test.
Also, don't come back to Minnesota until after the first frost. A mosquito bite is a daily occurrence around my place. Luckily there have been few West Nile cases here in Minnesota.
