I live in Ocala Fl. and the Sheriff just handed me a mandatory evacuation letter, so shelter here I come. It won't be fun sleeping on the floor, but at least I will be safe. Oh well, another new experience in life!
Hang in there Carol........pretend you're on a really bad cruise ship? (some people say a bad cruise is better than no cruise)
I think I've given up on the forecast for Frances and we're just going to be ready for anything that comes our way in Orlando.
I remember well, arriving into Miami just prior to Hurricane Georges. Taxi dropped us at the Biscayme Bay Marriott, and as I went to check in, we were told there was a mandatory evacuation.
We had our choice of a shelter or a transfer to a Marriott Hotel further inland. Which do you think we chose? <G>
Carol.. too bad you didn't the get the same choice! <G>... but glad to hear you'll be safe.
BTW.. that time George turned the last minute and winds diminished, and if I recall, never did much damage in Florida. Hopefully Frances will do the same
Wish I could loan you my super-duper Camp Rest sleeping pad, Carol! Glad to know you're going somewhere safe.

Thanks all for your kind words. I moved to Fl. from Ca. and all of a sudden the Ca. shakers don't seem so bad! I hope my living room at the beach doesn't have fish swimming in it. A lady who lives at the beach had fish swimming in her living room after a hurricane.
