We've been having rain off and on and wind off and on and sunshine off and on.....ready to get this show on the road! We've lost power twice but just for a few minutes.....we know the big outage is coming........my husband has turned the A/C down to 70 to keep the house a little cooler a little longer when we do lose power but my daughter and I are freezing........hanging out in sweat pants and sweatshirts! Our neighbors across the street have lost power already.
This thing is still moving at a walking pace and it is getting very frustrating. Looks like Ft Peirce or Vero but still can't be sure due to it's waobbling and slow speed. Ray is right about it hammering the beaches. Sylvia and I just came back from running down to the beach and these billions of tons of sand they put here last year for beach renourishment are just about gone already! Feel like you are being sandblasted and the winds are not that high here yet. Gusts only about 40+ I guess. It will really get to us in Florida tomorrow with lots of rain and at least tropical storm winds everywhere with many getting hurricane force.
It's sooo good to hear from you Florida folks. Please stay safe. Our screen saver now scrolls: "Go away Frances!"

It looks like Frances has made or is very close to making landfall in the Palm Beach area. The rain bands are coming in across the state. And they've just issued tornado warnings for mid-state (Polk County) until 11:45 EDT tonight.
The Tampa Bay area (where I live) is expecting heavy rain all day Sunday. Of course, tornadoes are possible anyplace in Frances's path. There are 7,000 people without power in Hillsborough County - it had been more.
Moved my pool furniture to my house wall - now just concerned about getting heavy rain which would mean I'd have to drain it some. (As it's fiberglas, you can never empty it.)
We've had some branches down and I found a mover's cardboard box which had been blown next to my pool bird cage.
This is nothing. Really feeling sorry (and praying) for all the people on the East Coast.
