Default Hello from London

Hi CruiseMates from London.

It has been great so far. The flight was long but not bad. Seem to go by fairly quick, even though it was over 10 hours. Got off the plane, immigration then our bags. Hooked up with our transportation, took about an hour and half.

Been in London for two days and hardly touched all the things to do. We did ride and tour on the Big Bus all day. Got to see a lot of sights. Will have pictures. We did go to the London Tower, Crown Jewels and many items there.

It has been very warm here, in the 80's.

Today we did the tube, underground train. It was a lot of fun.
Went out to the London eye, like a gigantic ferris wheel and could see for miles and all of London. From there we went to Buckingham Palace and just wandered. Tomorrow we have two tours set up at the Palace.

There is a lot of walking involved so we take it easy. Barb is doing OK but we both get tired.

Today we had lunch at a real pub, very nice.
So far our meals have been simple and nothing expensive.
London itself is expensive. Sure hope these people are paid better than we are, we could not afford to live here on what we make.

Right now as I write this it is 6:50 PM in London, Sunday, 8 hours ahead from Pacific time.

On Tuesday we will head for the ship around 9:30 AM and board around noon. It takes about 2 1/2 hours from London to Dover.

London is very interesting, you could spend a month here and not see everything.

Hold down the fort for me, anyone taking my place on all that wierd humor I post ... ??

Have a great time!! London has so much to see-all the history,museums... Did you get time to go to the British Museum?? Glad you are having a fun time.
I should go back there,as it was the only time in my life I lost weight from walking and not eating as much!!
We are missing your humour columns!!

Glad you and Barb are having fun. Getting tired is part of the game. We, back in Florida, are hunker down waiting for Frances to get outta here. All is fine so far.

Steve:
Great to hear that you and Barb are having a great time and getting a "taste" of London. It is a wonderful city but as you said, you could be there for a month and not see everything.

Say hi to the Queen for me and don't overdo it.

Take care,
Mike
