Thomas, Sounds like you are enjoying our great country so far!!$2 coins are called Toonies(two dollar) and $1 coins are called Loonies(they have a loon on them).Loonies came before Toonies. I wonder:is that the correct spelling of Toonies?? Enjoy yourself. I unfortunately do not get the Scandinavian women bit..your wife is from there?? From:Brenda in Canada(West Coast) P.S. Hope the weather is okay!

Re: What I like about Canada!
Thomas - I envy you...........I think I am going to do a Canada/New England cruise next year....now if I didn't have to do one out of NYC I would be happy! It has to be Princess and I believe they go out of NYC......uggh!
Crown Princess 1/18/14....the NEW Me, Myself and I cruise!
Thomas, I love the Loonies and twoonies too, they're the best thing since sliced bread!
I also have to say I love our coloured money, it's so easy to tell the denominations apart! I always have a hard time with US money all the same colour. you may notice that we add a "u" to colour, humour, and a few other words I can't think of now. Nobody knows why, but that's the way we learned it!
Be careful of the Canadian beer Thomas, it really packs a punch, or so I'm told, since I don't drink beer!
As for the metric system, I'm still confused about that one, as I was brought up learning the other system in school, so I still have to "translate" celcius to farenheit and metres to feet, centimetres to inches. It's a pain!
And that brings me to Scandanavian women?????
Hi Thomas, at the risk of sounding negative, I am a Canadian and you can have the two dollar coins, the lobster is priced out of sight and the metric system is a pain.....however, aside from all that, Canada is definitely one of the best countries in the world to live in.
About those Scandanavian women? Where is Mrs. Thomas? Is it true that the distance from DW is directly proportional to the number of fine women you see? I wouldn't know. But the only way I could take a trip in a motorhome would be alone. DW says she is claustrophobic but I can't figure out how she can handle a cruise ship cabin...or the shower!!!
There was a Royal Caribbean ship in the harbor yesterday but I didn't get the name. I drove through the harbor to look at it but the name was never visible.
At the moment I'm in a hotel for another day until I pick up the motorhome tomorrow. I'm travelling alone this trip as Mrs.Thomas decided to stay home to take care of the insurance claims from hurricane Frances and get the restaurant in order. Therefore I can look at the women without bodily harm.
