Default Dress is "Casual cocktail" ????

My dh and I are invited to an event tomorrow night. Dress is casual cocktail.Could someone explain to me what this mean? Suit for husband? Dress for me? Help!

I would assume slacks and shirt for him and slacks and blouse for you. You're having cocktails and it's casual. Then again, I could be wrong and probably am.

Wear a casual dress and DH slax and a nice shirt. If you are stikll in doubt call the operson who is giving the party.

hmm, that's a new one on me. Where its being held could give you a good idea of what to wear. I would go with a nice dress, not a fancy cocktail dress, maybe something you would wear to the office. Nice slacks and a blouse would work. For the DH a nice pair of slacks and a button front shirt, no tie necessary.

I believe "Casual Cocktail" is kind of like "Business Casual" Slacks and Shirt as opposed to a suit.
I think the slacks and shirt for him and pantsuit or casual dress for you would be fine.

It's perfectly appropriate to call the hostess and ask her what she means. I'm guessing you're to wear a nice but casual dress or pant suit and your spouse would wear slacks and a polo shirt. Hope that helps.

You wear what everyone suggests and have your DH take a jacket and leave it in the car or wear it and take it off there if it's overkill.
