You have to put on long pants and socks, shoes instead of sandals. Do the dreaded closet changeover, take out the air conditioner and clean the furnace filter, close and cover the pool, put away the patio furniture.
The only plus I can think of is we don't have to sunscreen 22 little bodies at work before we go out to play. Then again, now we have to put jackets on them all.....
.. you put away your summer jammies, and get out the flannelette ones. Also get out your flannelette winter sheets for the beds and also comforters.
Trip-I just got out my warm slippers last week,almost time to put away my thongs(no-not the underwear!! flip-flops!!)
RD-my husband was thinking yesterday of vacuuming out the furnace duct-thing'ies, but since it warmed up today- he did not. Have to buy furnace air filters,etc. And then the gas bill starts to soar!$$$$$$

VALOR Jan/05-our first family cruise was great!
The stores are full of Halloween stuff. You wake up to frost on the ground. The crunchy apples are in the stores. It feels good to put a big warm sweater on. You change from your light robe to your warm fuzzy Eeyore one!
You know it is fall in NH' s Lakes Region when...............................
1. You see busloads of people taking pictures of the leaves.
2. Apple farms are advertising apple picking.
3. Lake Winnipesaukee is suddenly empty of boats.
4. Advertising for skiing is all over the local channel.
5. Farm stands are full of pumpkins, mums and cider.
6. The marinas around the lakes have their yards full of shrink wrapped boats.
7. Weirs Beach Boardwalk is empty and the souvenir and fried dough stands are
8. People are wearing bright orange for hunting.
9. You hear advertising on the radio for the annual Chowder Fest in October.
10. You suddenly feel the urge to run to your favorite travel agent and book that winter cruise.

-you put away the nice flip flop slippers you seem to have brought home from your last cabin and exchange them for your big fluffy feet instead.
-the heating goes on.
-you wear a scarf to work and make sure you get on and order your long coat >g<
-the heating is the first thing you out on in the car
-the beautiful clear skies
-the swallows practising leaving
and you look forward to the winter when you can be all cosy in front of the fire and take long walks in the snow (if we have any this year), and start seriously planning that 3day trip to Vegas!!!!
