Ray & Helen Reporting in. It is 0915 hours Sept 26, 2004 and we still have power. It goes on and off . So I will hurry. The winds are very strong. Took a peek out the back, because the front is closed in tite, and the trees were blowing around. Still standing.
We had a very good slept last night listening the howling winds. I am afraid to go out after it becomes calm. No telling how much damage there is. We were lucky in a kind of way. Jeanne is passing to our south following almost the same path as Frances that came earlier.
At least we are fine.
I Sail The Carnival Dream.
The Royal Princess Transatlantic.
I sail The Crown Princess to The Southern Caribbean.
Great to hear that you're both OK, Ray. My prayers have been with all of you in the path of this monster. I am waiting to hear form my brother in Rockledge to see how they fared. Thank goodness you two and Jodi are all all right.
Glad to see you folks are okay Ray. Yes it looks like Jeanne will follow the path of Charley so we won't get too much here but you folks in the Orlando area as well as Melborne, Port St Lucie, etc are going to get hit hard again. Winds here are only 30MPH right now and won't get up to anything worth talking about until tonight now but I still don't think it will be all that much. Ya'll take care and hunker down and report back in when you can.
Glad to hear you and Helen are ok this morning, Ray. You are so sweet to check in with us and keep us updated amidst all that you are dealing with.
Thank you Jodi too. I'm glad to hear from you this morning.
I just talked to my brother in the nursing home in Boynton Beach. He was doing wonderful. They had power and the cable was working. He plans to play solitare on his computer this morning and watch the races on tv this afternoon.
My other brother and his family in Tequesta are doing well too. They don't have power, but have a generator that they hooked up to their refrigerator and the neighbors. It was so good to hear their voices this morning on the phone, and know that they are ok. We won't know about our place in Jupiter for a while yet, but that's ok.
I'm looking forward to hearing from all of our Florida CM friends. Looks like Mgram might be getting a lot over in Tampa right now. Hang in there.
Great to hear from you, Ray! Glad those trees are hanging in there, staying put! Stay safe and hold off on going out to look around! :-)
Great to see that Robo and Jodi still have power, too! Pictures on CNN aren't pretty and I'm glad the Florida folks are checking in with us! I've looked at some web cams around the state and the skies don't look too good!
Ray and Helen, glad to hear you're okay. You too, Jodi. I 2nd what Kuki said - stay inside until it's all over.
Talked to my sister in Lakeland about 11 am and they were in the eye - the ne wall having just passed. They had no power (and hadn't since early this morning), but were doing okay. Big 7 ft. privacy fence down, trees down, screen blown off and brand new roof leaking, but she and my nieces and nephews were okay.
Hang on Florida!

My friend and her family are coming home from Orlando(DWorld) today. I hope they get out okay. She was lucky her vacation came between hurricanes. I remember her asking :do they get hurricanes in Orlando?? Well, now I know the answer can definitely be YES!

VALOR Jan/05-our first family cruise was great!
Trying this again. <G> We lost power here in St Augustine at 2PM. Winds are only about 40MPH with higher gusts right now. Should get the worst around 4-8PM but still should not be that bad, especially when compared to other portions of the state. I am sure Ray is without power by now. FPL has stated that power could easily be out for up to 3 weeks due to a lack of resources such as parts, supplies, and vehicles. Florida has so much damage they cannot send trucks to the hardest hit areas as all areas have serious damage now. Phone lines are still up here but who knows.
Just heard that three mobile homes were taken out by that tornado but don't think there are any serious injuries anyway. We are now getting winds up to 60MPH and pretty heavy rains. As Jeanne is somewhat circling around us they are saying these conditions will continue until 2 or 3AM. Power actually came back on for a bit hgere but my sons are reporting that power is quickly going out all over the area. No worries here but I certainly hope all the other Cruisemates in her path are doing as well.
