James and I went out for dinner last night with some good friends to celebrate James's
60th B-day and our 3rd anniversary, and not only did we have a wonderful meal, but a warm and wonderful evening with good friends. It made me think, that with our lives so full of busy things to do, we so seldom take the time out to enjoy life with those we love the most. Linda and I did take the time a few weeks back, to go out for dinner, and enjoyed our "girls night" so much, we vowed to do it more often. It's wonderful that our mates get along so well too, and that both our sons are also good friends. Linda and I met 14 years ago at a support group for single parents dealing with death or divorce, and because we both had 2 year old boys, we became fast friends. I dragged her to many One Parent Family dances, where eventually she met Hank, and I met James.
We found out last night that they are finally getting married next year (after being together for 12 years!) and we are invited. Kinda just makes you warm and fuzzy all over!
So, to Hank and Linda, a toast: :To Good Friends!
BTW, we are still trying to convince them to cruise with us one day!
Sounds like a wonderful evening, Donna. Congratulations to your friends on their upcoming wedding. I know you are really looking forward to that one.
My brother and his wife have a group of friends that they keep in contact with by having a dinner at one of their homes once a month. I love that idea. It's so easy to loose touch with people that we really want to stay close too and involved with.
Hear, hear! Congrats to you and your sweetie and to the future newlyweds. You're right, we ALL need to sit down and take stock. And then count our blessings with friends and family.

RD please wish James a very Happy Birthday from us also. And Congrats on the anniversary. Life is too short and too fragile to lose touch with those who mean a lot to us. Good friends are hard to find, enjoy them and stay close.
A wonderful story, a great toast and all too true! Family and friends a major blessing in our lifes and sometimes we take both for granted! A very good thing to stay in touch with friends, family, enjoy life, celebrate each day!
Donna, a double congratulations....I have had a few friends, since jr high and before....it's so nice to have a history with people..Remember that song we used to sing as kids..make new friend, but keep the old, one is silver and the other's gold Very true....
