Sounds like just about the worse thing to happen, right?? Well, I found an interesting article in last Sunday's LA Times that opened my eyes to this possibility. I think I would not be very understanding if I was told that I was being bumped from a cruise. Although we usually book our cruises wayyy in advance, so I think that cuts down on the possibiilty of that happening....
Sorry, didn't realize you had to register to read the article from a past issue. I was already registered, so wasn't aware of that.
For anyone who wants to read it, it does not cost anything to register, and it was pretty interesting! One story was about a group of 50 who were bumped because they didn't have enough cabins! A Carnival spokesperson said they had very few cancellations on that cruise, so they had to bump people, giving them a 100% refund and another free cruise. Some people had to arrange to board their horses, so it was VERY inconvenient!
Considering that in my profession, I have to arrange for my vacations a year in advance, I would have been VERY unhappy, to say the least, to be bumped!
I will try to post the article here...sorry again about the misunderstanding...
