Default San Diego hotels ( CARNIVAL SPIRIT)

Looking for some advice on hotels near the port in san diego. We have heard the holiday inn ( on the bay), was o.k .

Going on the spirit 1/12/05 Anyone been on her, just got off the Pride in March and had a blast, loved Mexico, can't wait to go farther South . Acapulco, Ixtapa , Manzanillo, anyone been there. Looking for some ideas for shore excursions.

Thanks,

Springville, Utah

sorry i cant help you with the hotels but i have been on the spirit and love her. she was not too glitzy for my taste and is very easy to navigate. the food and service were superior and i had a wonderful time. the buffett on the lido is also good. there are many windows every where with comfortable chairs to be able to see out. have a good time on your cruise.

Bum, the Holiday Inn is directly across from the cruise terminal, so it's very convenient. You may also wish to try some of the discount hotel sites (priceline, hotwire etc). My buddy in the office just got the Wyndhm downtown (4 star hotel) for a total of $100 a night.

That is a great cruise -- we went last year at this time. And I personally preferred the Spirit's decor over the Pride's.

Here are two photo galleries -- one of the ship and one of our cruise.

Also check on the Mexico board for more.
