Default San Diego Article-Wow Harry

Wow Harry, great article. Having just spent a long three days in SanDiego , I can certainly say you missed nothing from the tourist perpective.
Great city. What a wonderful "resource" Balboa Park is. I could have spent 10 days (and nights) there alone. Gram particularly liked Old Town and found a shop or two there where she could leave behind any excess money we had left at the end of our trip.
Keep the great articles coming.

PapaBill,

Thanks *so* much -- what a nice thing for you to post.

I the article will give people options when they come in on the 4-nighter on Monarch, the Panama and Hawaii cruises, and the longer Mexican Riviera outings.

Cute story ... my parents moved to San Diego in 1961, when my mom was 8 months pregnant with little ol' me -- this was their final move after spending 2 years in Alaska (where my Dad got his first job as an architect with the state).

At any rate, my mom said she stepped off the bus in downtown San Diego, took a cab to Park Blvd (next to Balboa Park) and saw the palm trees lining the street, and said she thought she had landed in God's country.

42+ years later, we're still here.

:-)

Harry

Just read your San Diego article and was taken back to a few years ago when we stayed there. I loved it so much if I could have gotten my family to move there I would. It is "almost" the perfect place to live. Thanks for renewing the fond memories for me.

Jeanne

I was stationed at San Diego with the Marine Corps many, many years ago, and had a great time. What a super city. As a matter of fact, the Marine Corps Musicians Assn. is havine their reunion in San Diego next year (2005). We look forward to seeing the beautiful city once more.
