Last weekend I had the incredible pleasure of seeing the movie "Motorcycle Diaries." The movie is a fantastic film on many levels and there is a bonus: The scenery shown throughout this incredible South American adventure is magnificent. The movie allowed David and I to relive our S.A. cruise a couple of Christmases ago. It was great fun seeing many of the places we had visited.
O.M.G. I am so ready to go back to South America. This time I want to see the Galapogas Islands and Machu Picchu. I dream of once again seeing the Andes Mountains and the incredible glaciers near the straits.
Che Guevara's life as a young man and the motorcycle journey he and his buddy took to "find themselves " was a fascinating story in and of itself. This complex journey was the main thrust of the film but the S.A. countryside was like a cruise in and of itself, all be it a cruise on a less than functional motorcycle.
Anyway, enough daydreaming. That's my movie pick for the day. If you see Motorcycle Diaries, you won't be sorry, but your Visa Card may start steaming in your pocket as you plan that S.A. adventure.
