Carol:
I would try Priceline and bid 3* in the downtown zone. You will probably end up with the Radisson, Hyatt or Marriott. All of them are less than a $10 cab ride from the port. Many people have had winning bids around $50.

The website, www.biddingfortravel.com has great information on how to bid and what price people have successfully bid for rooms.

Take care,
Mike

Hi Carol,
I did try Priceline for the first time earlier this year and did get a nice hotel in the downtown area for $50. Its worth a try as long as you don't mind not knowing the specific hotel until your bid is accepted, but you can save money. We did get the Radisson, nice location. We did have to take a cab to the pier, but its very close.
