There ought to be some interesting stories on this topic.
I proposed to Peggy while riding in a cable car about half the way up the Jungfrau mountain peak in Bavaria. There was no way she could escape!
We met in Germany, got married in Switzerland, and had our honeymoon in Spain after driving down through France. This was at Christmas time in 1959. Now, it is almost 45 years later, and she still puts up with me.
If there had been a lot of cruise ships at that time, we might have been cruising instead!
Good question Paul!
James proposed to me in bed, and all I could say was WHAT???!!! (of course I had waited 6 years for him to ask after all!!)
Our marriage was very special, we did it "our way" and got married at a Railway Museum on a working steam train, dressed in period costume. It was quite spectacular! And of course, we honeymooned on a cruise (Maasdam) which hooked me for life!
Hi all,
O.k. have to tell you what Charlie and Cheryl have done. week of Oct 9-16
They booked a cruise on the Caribbean Princess, the love boat of course. About 80 of their good friends joined them. Just after dinner on the first formal night, Charlie clinked his glass to get every ones attention, then he got down on one knee and opened a box with an engagement ring in it. Every one of their friends knew about his surprise, except Cheryl. Cameras started taking pictures fast and furious, she was so surprised she started to cry. Of course she said yes. The wedding will take place in the spring, where else on a cruise ship. Date and ship yet to be deceided upon.
I wish I could have been there. ( Cheryl is my daughter)
Carole
In NYC at the Top of the 6s. Don't know if its still there. We were wating on friends to come so we could go out for dinner, they never showed up and after a few too many black russians he proposed, I almost fell off my seat! Married that fall and been happy ever after!
I told some of this story in another story, just the other day.....
Mrs Kuki and met at a party (at my house). She stayed on to "help me clean up". We saw each other every day that week, then she left for a week on vacation. I picked her up at the airport, drove her home, and asked her if she'd like to honeymoon in Hawaii.
A few months later we were married, and honeymooned in Hawaii for 5 weeks.
I proposed to Betty over the telephone. She was in Minnesota and I was in Alabama. It wasn't easy. I told her to just say yes and if she didn't feel right in the morning she could just call me and say no. She didn't call me in the morning and say no but I guess she had one rough night.
We've had a great marriage. We had all of our problems during the "dating game.". :-)
Take care,
Mike(20 + happy years) until right now. I'm getting chewed out for improperly bleaching a shirt.
