Default "Can you fish off the side of the boat?"

This is what my coworker asked me today. He's leaving on Thursday for a cruise. He had no idea what ship or cruise line since his sister-in-law booked it for him. Up until a few days ago he didn't even know where it was going. From the information he did have I figured out it was on Carnival, the Inspiration.

Just thought y'all might find his question amusing. Obviously, this is his first cruise. Can't wait to hear what he thinks about it when he gets back.

Cheers,
Michelle P.

Well Michelle, for us fisherman it's better to be fishing from the pier.

You mean I wasn't supposed to be fishing from the balconey? Is that what everyone was hollering up at me about? I just thought everyone was real friendly and they were waiving hello to me.
What else is there that I'm not supposed to do? I bet your going to tell me next I'm not supposed to empty the trash can over the side so the room is clean for that nice man who brings the little mints every night.

He better bring a lot of line.... its a long way from the top deck to the water.

That will be the fastest moving lure a fish will ever see....... 25 mph or so (plus his reeling speed).

Gotta share a funny story w/ y'all. The little pirate (Peter) loves to fish and so of course we dragged a fishing pole to Alaska. Now his pole has a yellow plastic fish on the end so he can't hurt himself or anyone else. But he was fishing! off the side of the boat when we docked in Ketchikan. He just couldn't figure out why there were no fish.

On the way to Vietnam on the troop ship, we use to do our laundry by tieing it to a line, and dragging it in the wake behind the ship. It would come out starched even! (the salt). I wonder what they'd do on the Caribbean Princess if you did that? Maybe I'll give it a try next time.
Happy sailing,
Ken
