our boy's soccer team won the semi-finals of the Mass Vocational High School Soccer Tournament in what turned out to be a real nail-biter! It didn't start out good for our Pathfinder Pioneers but they came back with a vengance in the second half- tied the game and sent it into overtime. Our lead goal scored got the ball, put his "magic" touch on it and scored. Today they are headed east (Look out Trip!) to Framingham, MA (neutral field) to play the winner of the Eastern Division (either Keefe Tech or Blue Hills Tech) for the championship. Then its Western Mass Division III playoffs. They are really pumped up! There were hugs, and high-five's all over the place after the game last night.
To keep the streak going the team Captain decided that for today's game that the jerserys weren't to be washed and that the players would wear the jersey's to school. Yuck, but at least they didn't decide to shave their heads like they did last year - Phew!! that was a relief to hear.
Go Pioneers ! take it to the top!!! With love from a very proud soccer mom!
Way to go, hope the streak continues. I now all about that ritual of not washing jerseys. Son's football team decided one year not to wash their practice jerseys for the whole season. Lets just say they were quite ripe by the time I got my hands on it.
the news today isn't as happy as we would have liked. Our Pioneers lost to Blue Hills Valley Tech 5-2. No state championship this year. <Sigh> . They are down, but they have every reason to be proud. They are Division Champs, they had an undefeated regular season, and they are headed into the Western Mass Division III play-offs on Friday. Coach needs to give them a pep talk today at practice, get them motivated.
They are considered the "underdogs" going into this tournament because no one pays attention to a small vocational high school out of a small town (Palmer), they might luck out and get home-field advantage, will find out today. Hoping for that, then they would have plenty of cheerleaders on the sidelines! Who knows how far they can take it!!!!!!!
Keep those positive vibes going
