Good morning, CruiseMates, from an insomniac in Southern California. It's 12:44 a.m. and the weather minions promise that it will be a nice day.
Not a happy day, yesterday Found out that a high school classmate died from a staph infection after surgery. Plus, my mother, who finally started to settle in at the nursing home, is all steamed up over a comment made by an attendant. And being Mother, she won't let it go. Sigh . . . On a brighter note, on Monday she will move to another facility which is like Assisted Living only with help.
I've started by "to do" list for Thanksgiving. Keith is helping with it. Have a wonderful day, CM's!
Good morning Judy, Anne, Steve and all the CM's to follow! Yeah, it's Friday! It is a rainy, cold day in the "Burgh". I feel like I may be fighting off a "bug". Hopefully, it will not grap a hold of me for the weekend. Jackie and I are going to a baby shower tomorrow...then I hope to just relax on Sunday. Jackie's birthday is Monday, so I am having dinner for everyone on Monday night. It always seems like Christmas is just around the corner after we celebrate her birthday. I hope you all have a great day/weekend.

Good Morning CruiseMates!! Snow predicted for NH's Lakes Region. No big plans for today. Looks like I did not get the job at the cruise agency. I am disappointed but there are other jobs out there. I do have chance to be an "at home " agent for another agency so I am checking into that. Have a good day all.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Good morning again from Orlando.
Judy, hopefully your mother will settle in soon and the move to the facility with more help will make her life easier.....although if she's anything like my dad she'll fight it at first. It took several weeks for dad to settle in and sometimes he still fights it.
It's another lovely Friday here in the Finger Lakes region of NY. Some snow or freezing rain was forecast, but I didn't see any driving to work. I had yesterday off from work, so I got a lot done at home. Finally got the window trim up and the holes filled in. All that's left is to sand a bit and paint. It will feel good to finally get this project finished!
Got a little present in the mail the other day. I'm supposed to report for jury duty next Friday. It may last 2 or 3 days. That Monday is the beginning of deer season here in NY. I don't mind doing my civic duty, but I hope I get out of this one. I hate missing opening day!
Hope everybody has a great day and a fabulous weekend!
The day is starting off pretty sunny, so no complaints so far.Trevor is over playing tennis and I'm getting a present ready for my brother. I've been left with a " to do" list to have done before tennis is over and we're ready to leave for my mother's.Funny how I inherit an agenda that's not my own. Inbetween, I have to take my own shower! (I know, Guys, you get "Honey Do" lists all the time!).One of the "Do's" was to put the clothes into the dryer that somehow got left in the washer all night. They looked a tad wrinkled to me-plus the towels that were with them will be left for the next dryer load.
All in all, we should have a nice day and visit over on our West Coast. I was going to say to have a nice Saturday-but-it's only Friday! Enjoy your day, whatever comes.
Cruizin J and K- we have 2 1/2 floors of dedicated Assisted Living apts within our facility. I'm responsible for the Activities up there--among other responsibilities.Believe me, nowadays, Assisted Living residents get lots of help!!!! Some folks are more independent than others while there are some that really need the structure. Your mom should be getting very good care. Let's hope there is enough for her to do so that she'll settle in quickly!!
Good Friday Morning ALL --- Little chilly in Baton Rouge -- 54.
Last work day before I cruise ----- Yipee!!
Hope You All have a nice day, I know I will--

Good morning from the frigid north. The high today will be about 35 - yipee. My husband was hoping to finish caulking the windows today, but not at those temps. He'll try and get the last piece of siding up, then start winterizing the vehicles - I'll finally get the snow tires on, the heater fixed. We should also get the yard work done. It will be nice to get those leaves picked up - and of course the never ending house work.
Son just left for his overnight - glad I'm not riding on a school bus to CT.
My husband just asked what was going on with all the Cruisemates - I said everyone was booking cruises. He hugged me and said I could book all the cruises I wanted too. My heart began to pitter pat - then he said of course I'd have to cancell all the ones I booked. I slugged him. I think he should be sent to his room - but he's got too many chores.
Judy - sorry to hear about your mom, I hope she adjusts well to the new facility.
Well by doggie wants to play, so I must attend his needs.
Good morning all:
I have awoke to multiple sneezing fits. Kramer has quit shedding and the house has been well vacuumed so I'm a bit worried a cold is on its way. As W.C. Fields might have said: " I guess I'll have to start putting orange juice in my orange juice." <VBG>
Not too much on the agenda for today. Tomorrow we are doing a family outing up to Alexandria, MN and spending two days at a resort up there. It is the down season up there so it was a very low rate and it will be nice to go in the pool with the granddaughter and give the "kids" a couple of days away from clients and work. Oh yes, the other great thing is that Kramer can come.
Jen: Tell you husband that jokes like that are considered GROUNDS in Cruisemates Court. <VBG>
Mary Lou: Happy Birthday to Jackie!!!!
Sue: Happy Painting. I'd offer to help but ahhh.................... I hear my mom calling...... yeah that's it.
Judy: I am truly sorry about your mom's staff infection and I hope she does get to go to the Assisted living facility soon. My best to you, Keith and mom.
I had an infection in my wallet after surgery. Money just drained out of it for months afterward. :-)
On that bad humor note:
Have a great weekend.
