Default Press Release; Carnival Liberty

Hey folks,
This just in concerning pre and post cruise stays in Rome after booking the Liberty cruise. My wife and I are hoping to do the second cruising of this ship and definately will remain in Rome for a couple days post-cruise and then travel thoughout Europe for a week or so and ending up in the UK with friends before returning. Great way to see the world and witness history.

MIAMI (November 17, 2004) - Carnival Cruise Lines is offering pre- and post-cruise hotel packages in several first class hotels in Rome, Italy, in conjunction with Carnival Cruise Lines' first-ever Mediterranean cruises on the Carnival Liberty beginning in summer 2005.
The one- to three-night hotel packages can be combined with the new 12-day Mediterranean voyages aboard the 110,000-ton Carnival Liberty from July 20 - Oct. 12, 2005, as well as a 16-day transatlantic voyage departing Rome Oct. 24, and arriving in Fort Lauderdale Nov. 9, 2005.
"Rome is a beautiful and fascinating city, filled with numerous historic sites and attractions, and these new hotel packages provide guests with a perfect opportunity to discover this city's many treasures," said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO. "Combined with the resort-style amenities and features on the Carnival Liberty, our guests will have a truly memorable and exciting European vacation."
The featured hotels include:
- Cicerone Hotel - This 302-room property is conveniently located in the center of the city and within walking distance of many popular attractions, including the Piazza del Popolo, Castel Sant'Angelo and San Pietro.
- Visconti Palace Hotel - Also located in the heart of Rome, this beautiful property features 247 rooms and is just minutes away from shopping areas and historic sites, such as the Spanish Steps and the Vatican.
- Hilton Rome Airport Hotel - Adjacent to Rome's Leonardo da Vinci airport, this elegant and stylish hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to the city's sites and attractions. The Hilton Rome Airport Hotel also features three bars and restaurants, and a health and fitness center.

Prices for the one- to three-night land stays range from $180 to $510 per person, based on double occupancy and depending on length of stay. Rates include complimentary buffet breakfast and porterage service. Transfers between the hotel and airport/pier are also available at an additional cost.
Guests choosing to stay at either the Cicerone Hotel or Visconti Palace Hotel will be accommodated at these properties, or a comparable alternate hotel, based on room availability.
Carnival is currently accepting reservations for the various hotel packages and Carnival Liberty's Mediterranean cruises.

Sounds like a wonderful trip, Jim. We did a land trip thee many years ago. More recently, we stopped there as part of a cruise. I am envious!
