Default NCL follows along like RCCL

Here is a blurp from travel weekly that I find interesting..

The great equalizer: NCL to 'level playing field' on agency prices
MIAMI -- NCL Corp. will not allow travel agents to discount fares in any public advertising forums beginning Jan. 17, and said it will institute a “level playing field” on prices. The company added that it would provide the same prices and promotions to agencies “regardless of size or volume.”

Steve: It wouldn't surprise me if all the cruiselines follow suit on this one.

The difference is that NCL can quote lower, they just can't advertise lower. This is more like Carnival's policy.

Its getting more and more difficult to get good upfront pricing on more cruise lines.
I love to shop early and have in the past got great pricing for "early booking" but that seems have stopped on some lines. The early bird doesn't get the worm.... at least not on Celebrity or Royal Caribbean. ( and more lines to follow).

The cruise lines seem to be making a lot of the same mistakes as the airline industry of a few years ago.(customer service and pricing issues).(IMHO)

Like I have said repeatedly in response to this topic: This will last only so long as ships are sailing full or nearly so. If booking rates decline, especially due to higher prices you can bet a few, favored agencies will get some "special" promotions or the allowable price will droop.
