Fascination is a Fantasy Class ship and has been in service since 1996 I believe. It has undergone a couple of refits already and is in great shape as are all their ships. The thing that many people do not like about the Fantasy Class is that they have lots of neon andare somewhat 'loud' in docor. <G> The main thing is that this calss ship has very few balconies except for the suite and demi-suites. Many people opt for a balcony and they are more easily obtained on the new class ships such as Destiny, Triumph, Spirit or Conquest Classes.
Many of the older ships have been refitted, so are very much like new. We cruised on the Fantasy after she had been refurbished and found the bed covers, etc., to be even nicer than on our Glory cruise (a much newer ship).

With my limited cruise experience, the most appealing feature of the Fantasy Class ships is the outdoor patio abaft the Lido buffet/grill. There are two of them, one port, one starboard on the Lido deck, overlooking the children's pool on the Promenade deck. I sometimes refer to them as the fantail. Though I could get excited about a cruise on a ship that lacks them, the absence of the feature would seem a flaw in the cruise.
I absolutely urge anyone on a Fantasy Class ship to drink coffee [or beverage of choice]at sunrise out there on the first sea day.
I may dwell on the land, but I live at sea!
Sensation 2/03 I disembarked, but never really left the ship.
Enchantment 9/03 Just had to go back.
Inspiration 3/04 Just have to go back again, and again, and again...
Sensation 04/05 The vessel made me do it!
