Hi CruiseMates, Today in my e-mail I got a very impressive letter from "Citizens Bank" Telling me all about its online bill paying system. The letter was very impressive, complete with logos and links. Of course this letter made it very easy to set up my account. Beware of this.!!! I called Citizens and they said they have sent out NO letters nor do they request we set up online and enter our information. If you get this letter in your email please delete it!
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
I've received such emails from "Citibank" which turned out to be bogus as well. They gave me a link to click on, where certain personal/credit card info would be requested. They looked legitimate, with the Citibank logo and all. But a quick call to the real Citibank security department proved that they weren't legit at all. I've also received a similar email from another bank where I didn't have an account at all. It looks like they send these messages randomly, so be wary of any such email you might receive. It's probably fraudulent.
Thanks for the warning. I've been receiving these types of emails regularly...they appear to be from my mortagage company and various credit card companies. Of course, they are immediately deleted from my computer, but I cannot help but wonder how many people are taken in by these frauds. Please be careful.
