My son and daughter in law got me, a menu from the July 2, 1938 sailing of the Queen Mary. It has an art deco cover , done in shades of blue and green, with 2 fish and the Cunard White Star logo on the front.
Had I been a passenger then, I would have found it tough to find something to sink my teeth into..LIke, Roast haunch of mutton, [feh] boiled halibut,[yuck], sweetbreads, oh my..BUT, the deserts looked good They got this on Ebay, and Jonathan said, he had to fight for it at the end.....Such a nice collectible...and a thoughtful and interesting gift.
Trip, with her book & tea!

What a wonderful gift!!! A menu from one of the great liners of the past. You are really blessed to have such a thoughtful son. I kept my whole weeks menus from my cruise on Home Lines Homeric but that will never compare. Wow, what a gift. Lucky lady.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
I got a diamond pear shaped necklace from my husband. Total suprise and its so pretty on a gold chain. We said we weren't doing large gifts this year. We would try for a cruise in spring/summer. Hope to still do that.
What a cool gift! It will become a family treasure, I'm sure.
