Default Whatta Gift!!

My son and daughter in law got me, a menu from the July 2, 1938 sailing of the Queen Mary. It has an art deco cover , done in shades of blue and green, with 2 fish and the Cunard White Star logo on the front.

Had I been a passenger then, I would have found it tough to find something to sink my teeth into..LIke, Roast haunch of mutton, [feh] boiled halibut,[yuck], sweetbreads, oh my..BUT, the deserts looked good They got this on Ebay, and Jonathan said, he had to fight for it at the end.....Such a nice collectible...and a thoughtful and interesting gift.

What a wonderful gift!!! A menu from one of the great liners of the past. You are really blessed to have such a thoughtful son. I kept my whole weeks menus from my cruise on Home Lines Homeric but that will never compare. Wow, what a gift. Lucky lady.

Those are the kinds of gifts that are the absolute best!
I agree that I would've been hard pressed to choose a dinner entree and probably also would've just gone for dessert.

What a great gift, Trip! I know that the thought and caring that went in to getting it for you means as much as the gift. Enjoy.

What a nice gift! And so thoughtful.

I got a diamond pear shaped necklace from my husband. Total suprise and its so pretty on a gold chain. We said we weren't doing large gifts this year. We would try for a cruise in spring/summer. Hope to still do that.

A special gift, indeed, Trip. The menu choices were interesting. What's interesting, too, is that people then probably thought it was all yummy. Tastes, along with mental conditioning, change!
