Default Booked this for our stop in Half Moon Cay

Half Moon Cay is Holland America's absolutely gorgeous "private island". Stopping there on Westerdam next month, and decided to book a cabana for the day.
These weren't there last time we visited Half Moon Cay... but look like a fun way to spend a day on the beach. They come along with floats and snorkel gear, soft drinks, water, refigerator, mister on the deck along with a shower... and Mrs Kuki's favorite thing.... Cabana boys! There are only a few of these cabanas available, so we jumped in and booked this one! Can't wait!

Kuki, are you splurging for the Butler upgrade at an additional $270 or just going for the basic $219 package?

Mark.. I'm a "trained" butler now, so no need for the "upgrade"<G>

Because there are cabana boys to help with food and drink I don't think "butlering" would be much of an upgrade.

Except for all the alchoholic beverages and lunch! Of course, I don't think four of you can drink and eat enough during the day to pay for the upcharge.

I am so envious!!!!! Wish I could get an airlift and join you for the day.

As to the cost, it sure doesn't seem high compared to the price of 2 people going on a tour for the day. You said this would accomodate 4, so it seems like a bargain to me. Doesn't matter anyway-----it's your cruise. :-)

we had a cabana last march --i booked mine by calling hal direct--at one time they were only for suite and penthouse pax but its now first come first serve---dont remember the color of mine but you want one thats closest to the food pavillliion and the rest rooms-----at that time it was stocked with beer -pop -water --fresh fruit and salsa and dip plus some swim stuff the cabana not the restrooms----unless things have changed there is no cabana boy or butler if you make the basic rental-- treated people we met on the cruise and it was great ----had company coming and going all day--------food wasnt that far away so we went and got food and brought it back to the cabana -------------great day was had by all ---including the german tourists who got off the ship early and assumed that it was first come first serve for cabana usage----------showed them our papers and they left --lucky for us they didnt get into the beer-------------------------------------also had one guy come up off the beach and ask if he could use our shower------------------------didnt have the heart to say no so we sat there drinking beer and watching him shower off the sand
