I couldn't resist wishing all my CM's a happy Friday morning from Southern California.
I loved the exchange I heard on our Channel 4. My favorite weather maven commented that the "people from Michigan couldn't figure out what we were whining about!" Hee, hee, hee! Truly, it was a beaut weather-wise: an incredibly blue sky with puffy little clouds, absolutely clear view of the foothills and mountains. Perfect would be temps in the 70's, but it's in the 50's.
Tomorrow at noon, people can start camping on Colorado Blvd. We might go take a look at them, but probably not. I prefer my own toasty bed, and not concrete. Will watch the second rerun of the parade.
It's 1:45 am. here & I haven't been to bed yet, so I guess I may as well get in an early good morning as well! Have a great Friday everyone. Here's hoping 2005 is a much better year for some of us.
Good Morning CruiseMates!! It is 4:45 AM and 19'F here in NH's Lakes Region. It is supposed to be 42 today!! a heat wave!!! Shopping to do today. Job hunting is slow this week, everybody is away for the holidays. Have a great day all.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Good morning from swfl...not sure what we will be doing tonight. The church called and told us they are having a new years eve gathering after all. I am sure we will drop in with some food and fellowship for a while. I took my 3 mile walk yesterday and it felt great. I have been so lazy....doing the same again today with dh. He isn't very motivated but he needs to get the exercise. He has gained a lot of weight and checking his bp yesterday it was a bit elevated. He always had very low bp in the past. Needless to say we are on a mission to be in shape again!
Mary-Lou how is Curves? Maybe you can explain how they do things there.
Have a great day...I am sure most people are off from work today like my dh.

June 1st 2015--- Denali Explorer Cruise on Star Princess!
We went grocery shopping yesterday to buy the fixin's for tonight's dinner. Our New Year's plans are very simple, dinner at home, then out for a movie. We are not the party animals we used to be. <G> We just save that for the cruise. <VBG>
Last night, as I was driving home from work, I was stopped at a red light. A lady in a Cadillac decided not to stop soon enough. Luckily I drive a 4X4 truck, so the only damage I saw was the removal of some road grime. I've done more damage to my truck when I back it up to my boat trailer. There was a little scrape on her bumper, but she was not worried about it. So we went on our merry ways.
I hope everybody has happy and prosperous New Year!
Good Morning All & A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE CRUISEMATES.
70's here in Ga. Not sure of our celebration plans this evening. No big parties or anything. Too many nuts on the loose to want to be on the roads.
Ya'll have a fun & safe new year.
It's about 7:45AM here in Avon Park,FL. The temp is currently 53 degrees, but the sun will be shining shortly with the promise of high 70's today.
The work day will be spent getting ready for tonight's annual New Year's Eve Residents' Party that will start at 9PM. Most of the Independent Residents will be downstairs in their fancy duds shortly after 8 to make sure they get a seat at one of the 4 top tables. Some of the Health Care Center residents will be brought over-a change from past years, when just some of the more ambulatory ones came into the room.I'll see how many of my Assisted Living folks will still be up by 9:00PM! Today is the official holiday for the employees but I'll work anyway like I always do on New Year's Eve.Then I'll come home early and go back later. The other big change is that my new boss will be the Entertainment. She's a professional singer.
Dreams of a cruise are coming more often now. Hubby and I definitely need a vacation! When we speak of a trip in a car, thoughts of expenditures rear their ugly heads, combined with the thoughts of being tired out at the end of the trip from all the driving and stopping. The idea of the Cruise gets better and better!
It is Friday and the savage Bridezilla rests awaiting her final attack. The family communications network was abuzz all day yesterday as the story of the rehersal was passed around again and again. No one has heard from the lovely Bridezilla since the meltdown. Sister number 4 says she will go through with being a bridesmaid to preserve what family goodwill remains.
DW made the big mistake of allowing me free reign to get the fixings for tonights New Years celebration. Party food galore and a bottle of Spanish cava.
Everyone have a great New Years and I will see you in 2005.

John and Marsha(who will probably sleep in the New Year)
Starting out a beautiful sunny morning here on the bottom right corner of Va. DH has gone fishing for the "big" ones again. "last time this year" he says,,,Duhhha,,,
We are having company come in this evening,,,an all of us are heading to my daughters for a small house party. Tomorrow night is our big party. My cousins got married yesterday (after 20 years together) so tomorrow is their reception party.
Hope everyone has a safe evening. Happy New Years all.
Morning all, from a wet, messy but mild Montreal. We are having rain and freezing rain for New Years, but I guess that's better than the snowstorm that hit west of us!
Today will be quiet, but preparations are also underway for a "party" at my mom's tonight. We will supply all the food, hats, noisemakers, and a game of Trivial Pursuit, 90's Edition. (we cheated and looked at some of the questions last night; we are in for a tough game!!) Wishing all my CruiseMates friends a very Happy and Safe New Year's Eve, whatever you're doing!
Good morning from Orlando. The kids and I went to the parade yesterday.....LSU plays Iowa in what used to be called the Citrus Bowl (and before that it was the Tangerine Bowl) but now has some generic corporate sponsorship name.....oh well, the parade was great.....lots of marching bands.
Tonight we'll have a party here.
Donna, we'll also be playing Trivial Pursuit 90's edition. The sad thing is my kids beat me at it when we played the other night.....and they were born in 86 and 89! I thought I'd win no problem!
Sue, I have gone to Curves before and I have a friend that used to be a manager at one. I think it is a great workout program. They have a number of workout machines (9, I think) set in a circle and between each one the is a cardio station (low impact) where you can basically do whatever you want to keep your heartrate up. Each machine works a different group of muscles. You go around the circle 3 times which takes 30 minutes. When you are finished there is an area to stretch as well as a chart to show you how. That's it! I really liked it when I went there, I just don't have the time to go enough to justify a membership. Also, right accross the street from where I work a new place just opened, it is the same system, but for men. It is called CUTS, but I don't think it has any affiliation with CURVES. Maybe they have CUTS in your area for your DH. If you want anymore info on CURVES email me, I am going to my friends (the one who used to work there) for the weekend and I can ask her whatever questions you would like.
Good Morning cruisemates! The deep freeze settling in over Calgary, with temps about 5 BELOW zero F for highs, and expected to hold like this until at least next Friday.
Taking my parents to the airport shortly to catch their flight to Hawaii. Just hoping they can stay health and enjoy the full 2 months they are scheduled to be there, and out of this cold.
Last year when they went I was delighted, because their health was pretty good. This year I am more apprehensive because they are obviously more frail. But, can only hope it goes well. The alternative of spending the winter here wouldn't be good either.
No big plans for New Years here. Out for chinese dinner with a few friends, and a few hugs with best wishes, and home to bed
