Hi to all of you out there from australia. It has really shaken the world to see so many people in desparate need of our help. We have been to Asia so many times and have stayed in some of the great hotels that are no longer there. The people in these regions are the kindest and most obliging people you would ever meet ( i am sure some of them are working on cruise ships to support families at home)and it upsets me to think of some of them we know being in need.
Perhaps fellow travellers out there could help in a small way by a small donation and I am sure you would feel so much better in yourself for doing so. Thanks to you all

We have already sent $ ASAP to Doctors/Nurses w/o borders. We are busy making health packets to be sent out. My friend's mom & dad were on a humanitarian mission 1 hr out of Takara Indonesia & had just taken off on their flight home when it happened. We are still in shock at the magnitude of this & to the future health problems that will incur
It's impressive to see on the news how much these people help each other out. It does seem like disasters can bring out the best in people.
We were very happy to find out that the company my husband works for would match employees donations to the Red Cross, and it's good to hear that the donations are getting to the people that need it.
In disaster situations the people of the "western world" always open their hearts (and their wallets) to give.
I just urge everyone to be sure of the organizations they do support. Be sure to ask how much of your charitable donations are going DIRECTLY to support the victims of this tragedy... the law states they have to tell you!
I just detest charitable organizations that hire companies to solicit for them because SO MUCH of the money gets wasted in "adminstration".
