I keep hearing about this big price discount but every time I check the Delta site or any other site, Delta is still coming in at $323.00 when American is $214.00 for a flight from Indy to Miami. My luck I will book with American and then Delta will drop the price. Is this for certain hubs only, what site did you go to? Thanks

From what I heard Delta is cutting their fares for last minutes travelers by putting caps on the overall prices they charge. On the news they said it would not have to much effict on those of us that actually plan early.

The fare change saved me $ 135.00 per person for a transcontinential flight in June and July to Seattle . (for 3 people thats significant).

There will be seven of us going from Indy to Miami, and that is why I'm looking for the best rate because it really adds up with that many people. We are going in May, I think I would be safer booking at the American Airline price of 213.00 rather than risk getting seven seats with arrival time we need at the last minute. I think a lot of the press was misleading, I heard a representative on Good Morning America explaining the new pricing, and it really doesn't help those who plan ahead, it just caps the price so those booking last minute travel don't end up paying three times what everyone else on the flight payed. Seems to me they would sell the last few seats and a reduced price anyway just to fill them up. For those of you who saved money I'm happy for you (a little jealous too because I LOVE A GOOD DEAL).

If you can get $213 roundtrip for that itinerary you should grab it and and not look back. That's a terrific price.

I'm with Daneen, been watching air prices but couldn't book just yet - one day away from have return date within limits...24 hours to go and price has went UP. Happy for anyone who is getting a bargain...but not looking promising here.

Here in Canada, the Airlines can cut their fares to ZERO and it still costs $350 bucks.
