Default cruise line suggestion

My 22 year old son and 3 friends want to cruise out of NY city this summer. Can anyone suggest a cruise line for them? They will be 22 and 23 when they take their cruise. Are they old enough to go without a older person? Thank y ou.

Yes, they can go without an older person.

I assume they have limited funds, so I would suggest looking into Carnival. It's a great cruise for the money and they are most definitely the "Fun Ships."

NCL out of NY. No formal wear needed if they choose not to dress, and the Freestyle dining set up may work really well for them.

As they meet people they can simply arrange to go to dinner together.

If drinking/party atmosphere is more what they want...Carnival....If not ..I'd go with NCL. .

CCL cruises out of NY are fairly high compared to those out of the Caribbean. I also think NCL would be a better choice as it is a more relaxed dining situation. CCL has also toned down the "party boat' image of lots of drinking.
