in general what do people put on their cabin doors? We will be doing Disney WOnder in March and I was thinking about doing a sign or signs for son, hubby and myself with disney characters on them, opinions please.
We did lights (battery operated kind), a duct tape ship (don't ask) and some glittery pipe cleaners.....
Fun and easy to spot our door from miles away!

I had lots of good intentions to get my door decorating done, but close to the cruise I ran out of time to get things together for it!! Next time I & the girls will do it LOTS in advance. It would be something to do, say at 1 month before the cruise-have your door decorations done & ready to go!
Your idea sounds very cute! Have a fun cruise!!

I love door decorations! And sometimes I admit, they end up a little over the top : o
I tend to create in 3D. May I suggest a theme? About a Disney favorite, The Little Mermaid"? ; )
Are all cruise doors magnetic? I am sailing on Monarch of the Seas in two weeks. I have a collection of fish magnets heading to the Goodwill. I pulled them out as possible door decor. I am not doing so much this trip as my door is "private." It is not on the main hallway and i think there is only one other cabin that will see the decor. However, my young kids will be able to find our room easier with something there.
My last trip from SF to Cabo/Puerto Vallerta I had a map on my door (free from AAA) with a boat that I would update everytime I would come and go. This was fun for the kids to get an idea of where we were and what was next. I noticed other passengers enjoying my map and even helping to update the boats placement.
So, are the cruiselines really ok with all this door decorating? No fire hazard or other silly hullabaloo? I could do a silly scrapbook page for our door. I like the idea of the map, too.
We decorated the door with Sponge Bob on our first cruise. Our second cruise we decorated the cabin door of our cruise budddies and they did ours. They got a "special" birthday sign that encouraged other cruisers to write a birthday message (got quite a few) and our door was decorated in a casino theme, since they knew we were also addicted to Blackjack. Our next cruise we are taking our "kids" 13 and 22 and I am working on something (hee hee hee)special for them.
