I remember that someone on this board either works or has worked for the airlines. With the gas prices going up, how much of an impact will this have on air travel? I have been waiting to buy our flights until the price drops. In your opinion, will the prices keep rising like we are paying at the pumps, or will the flight prices still flucuate? Thanks
I don't work for any of them but you can bet your bottom dollar that prices will now start to rise with the news reports and air travel will go up and cruise prices as well. I hate to scare people by understand that until FINAL payment is received they CAN up the price of your cruise for fuel supplements. I don't think that will happen but prices themselves will start to rise soon to prevent them from doing that.
we r looking @ going to Vegas in June and airfare is high compared to what we've seen in the past... its @ least 85 higher than a year ago same time... we thought we might hold out... but looks like our flights we want are filling up... so we may just have to bite the bullet...
I don't know where you're flying to/from, but I just booked airfare from Boston to Tampa last night for $69 each way. We're flying down on JetBlue and back on Song. Neither one had the $69 price for both ways.

Did anyone notice the oil companies profits that were announced in the past few weeks. Massive profits in the many millions or billions. They ought to be ashamed of themselves for upping the prices so much so often. And any little excuse (apart from the price of a barrel of oil) such as they need to change the formulation, because it is summer/winter, a pipeline has been damaged, the ongoing crisis in Iraq, etc, etc etc. When the prices do occaisionally come down, the prices never come down by quite as much as they went up. Rant over.
