What a terrible day. I need prayers for two people. First for my one year old niece who is in the hospital with a serius infection in her body. She is quarantined and not allowed to have visitors. She is a tiny thing but has lost weight she can't afford to lose.
Second, prayers are needed for my friend Jean, a 38 year old mother of three, (a 1 year old, a 4 year old and a 10 year old) who had a stroke today.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Prayers are on the way. While it is sad for anyone to be terribly ill it is especially heartbreaking for a child. My girlfriend's grandaughter was terribly ill from birth to her liver transplant at less than 1.5 years old, she is now a healthy six year old. I will pray for the same results for you.
My niece has improved to about 75%. She's still in the hospital and will probably be there for another 5-6 days but she is getting better. The virus she had is called Rotavirus. I guess it can it little ones pretty hard.
As for my friend Jean, she is still in intensive care. They had to insert a tube in her brain to drain the fluid and blood. She is somewhat awake but drifts in and out. They are still running tests. They are talking about inserting a scope/wire through her heart to see what is going on but she needs to get stronger. As of now they don't know what permanent damage is done if any. I guess it will be a few more days before we know.
Thanks for your continued prayers. God bless you all.
Cheryl, glad to hear that your niece is improving and will pray for the same for your friend. It is so hard, waiting and not knowing how your friend will fare but God willing , he/she will pull through with your love and support. Sincerely, Maryann
Well the news is in for my friend Jean. She has a hole in her heart and will require surgery. (To those Patriots fans, it is the same medical condition and surgery as Tedy Bruschi.) She has to wait 3 months for the surgery so she can recover from the stroke. They put her on cumidin? but can't rule out that she is at risk for another stroke at anytime until her surgery. So far the only side effect from the stroke is she still has blurred vision. Because of the blurred vision and risk of another stroke, she is not allowed to drive. Just thankful they found the problem and it can be repaired. They are looking at releasing her from the hospital early next week.
My niece Sandi continues to get stronger and better each day. She may be coming home from the hospital on Sunday.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It is comforting to know there are wonderful people out there who you can turn to when needed. God Bless you.
